When the holiday season is over, it's time to put away all of the Christmas decorations. This can seem like a daunting task, especially if you have fragile items and lack of storage space. However, with the following Christmas storage tips, you'll realize how easy it can be to store these items until next year.

Store Ornaments in Cups

Utilizing a plastic storage box and small plastic cups is a great way to store ornaments that are fragile. Place an ornament in each cup and place cardboard between the layers of cups. This will not only protect breakable items, it will also prevent your ornaments from tangling up.

Use a Tube to Store Your Tree

Using two 8-inch diameter concrete tubes to store your artificial tree frees up a lot of storage space. Use twine and wrap each layer of your tree and put half of the tree in one tube and the other half in the other. Don't forget to write the layer numbers on each tube!

Use a Hose Reel for Lights

Purchase a transportable hose reel with wheels that has a handle and use this to store all of your Christmas lights. This way all of your lights will be in one place and they won't get tangled.

Use a Cardboard Spool for Lights

Use cardboard and cut a piece out of both ends to create a spool so that the lights won't slip off when wrapped around it. This storage idea also prevents your lights from getting tangled.

Corral Gift Wrap

Use wire closet shelving to make a corral inside of your closet wall. This way your wrapping paper won't get torn or crinkled, and you'll know exactly where to find it. You could also suspend your wrapping paper at the ceiling with elastic.

These Christmas storage tips will make packing up your holiday decorations a breeze. For more useful home tips, make sure to check out our First Quality Roofing & Insulation Blog
